The Siege of Rodilhan—Government Sanctioned Animal Torture Under Attack
By Edita Birnkrant and Carole Raphaelle Davis
Yesterday, on Oct 27, over 800 activists from all over Europe and the US came to Rodilhan, a small town in the south of France, to demonstrate against the torture and stabbing to death of bulls.
Two bullfights were scheduled that day and activists who arrived at 9 am were greeted at the off-ramp by scores of police in riot gear. In a case of blatant profiling, activists’ cars were searched and some were frisked while ticket holders to the bullfight were waved in.

I have contacted the RSPCA and PETA with no results. But I did find that the SSPCA was interested and unaware of this going on. PLEASE PLEASE help me with this. Contact the SSPCA the more people that do the more it will help stop this abuse!

From 20 to 57 seconds. If this is not animal abuse I don't know what is. This is wrong! Just wrong!
Have a look at Fish in Pain on Wiki and see what you think. There are other resources and info out there to find. This is just the first one I went to.
One thing about it... I don't think a fish would be looking forward to this experience. It couldn't be good for them or the environment.
This one is... disturbing, sick, torture, cruel... None of those words are effective enough to describe what is happening to these animals. I am beyond tears watching this and can't breath. But these beautiful animals that are clean and smart live their short lives (about 5 months) this way. I don't even know what else to say except this is something that I will not be a part of. Life is precious...

Mercy For Animals
The following video is graphic but true and happing every day. Would you want this life? Would you want your pet cat or dog to have this life? It's disturbing but please watch. We need to know where our food comes from. It's better to make an informed decision. This is information...
I'm still learning...
I'm not here to preach and even though I have gone vegetarian I still want to know where food comes from and how it gets to where it's going...
Controlled atmosphere killing (CAK) or controlled atmosphere stunning (CAS) is a method for slaughtering animals such as chickens by placing the animals in a container in which the atmosphere lacks oxygen and consists of an asphyxiant gas (one or more of argon, nitrogen or carbon dioxide), causing the animals to lose consciousness. Argon and nitrogen are important components of a gassing process which seem to cause no pain, and for this reason many consider it more humane than other methods of killing.
Controlled atmosphere stunning has been used both within processing plants and on-farm for euthanizing poultry. Anoxia in broiler chickens generated through argon or a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide or hypercapnic hypoxia seems can be used under commercial conditions. Meat tenderness and drip losses improve. The blood spots, especially those on the thighs and breasts caused by electrical stunning and hanging, disappear altogether.
Portable units are available for the on-farm slaughter of livestock. One portable unit type that costs US$2,500 can be pushed down the aisles of a barn, with 200–250 chickens per load being placed inside a CO2 enriched chamber. Chickens are unconscious within 30 seconds of being in the chamber.
Similar types of unit using nitrogen and/or argon are available for euthanasia of laboratory rodents such as Guinea pigs, although this method is considered ineffective in young or neonates.
Studies show that diving animals such as mink, and burrowing animals such as rodents and rats are sensitive to low-oxygen atmospheres and (unlike humans) will avoid them. For this reason, the use of inert gas hypoxic atmospheres for euthanasia is very species-specific.

PETA PUSHES U.S. FAST-FOOD, GROCERY, AND POULTRY INDUSTRIES TO ADOPT LESS CRUEL, MORE PROFITABLE METHOD OF CHICKEN AND TURKEY SLAUGHTER
You may find the following video disturbing... This is what's really happening to millions of chickens and CAK is a walk in the park compared to other methods. I still won't be eating ANY chicken... EVER!
It's hard to watch and believe... If you don't see you won't know.
Is ignorance bliss?

This is by no means easy to watch, learn about and know. But I feel the only way to change and make things better is to be informed. Sometimes the information is a very VERY hard hitting reality. A slap in the face, a horror, a nightmare, but true. This is one of those times.
The Channel 4 programme, featuring farmer Jimmy Doherty, was explaining how more than 90,000 male dairy calves are shot at birth every year because there is no market for them.
