Dear Dirty Dublin
We had to make a quick trip to Dublin today. The last time we took the train I saw these houses and was just totally amazed that anyone could live there! But they do! so I knew what my photo for the day would be!
I'm exhausted! All that walking around Dublin was just too much!
So again no commenting just post and go! Sorry but I promise I will catch up over the weekend!
Oh yeah and one more thing I almost forgot….
Better than expected!
Today was the big day… my photo is now hanging in the Dundalk Tourist Office! They were so unbelievably nice and its hanging in the best spot I could ever think! They took down a cork board with info on it to hang my photo! Wow!
I was really nervous at first showing it but they seemed to be very happy with it and even said they would make a sign to put next to it with my info! She also asked if I had more business cards if she runs out. I took 10 and she said no doubt she would need more! I almost died!
It was really amazing and what a great experience! I couldn’t stop smiling and was just totally blown away with how very nice the staff were!
Anyway I'm delighted! And BIG woo hoo!!!! And MOO!!!!!!
Here is a link to the office if you want to have a look…
I have arrived! I am a real person and I have a card to prove it! :~)
Tomorrow I'm going into the tourist office to hang my photo so today I was in a bit of a rush to get a few business cards printed. I think they turned out well and they have the same look as the Etsy shop.
I felt so terribly important standing there in my sweat pants and hair all a mess collecting my little cards! Lol! At least I have a few cards to leave at the office now if anyone shows any interest. The print came today too and I have it all matted and framed. It looks very well even thought I thought it might be just a tiny bit dark. Maybe I'm just being picky! But really I'm delighted with it and can’t wait to see it hanging on the wall tomorrow! We all know what tomorrows shot of the day way! lol unless there are any issues with the actual hanging of it. I don’t know what’s there but have a hanger on and ready!
Now… all that’s left is to actually sell something! That would be great I think I would most likely die from a heart attack if it ever happened! I'm willing to take the chance and find out though!
The other thing I haven’t mentioned is I'm giving the vegetarian thing a go! The last time I had meat was Friday. I know it’s not really very long yet but it’s a start! I'm happy with it and I'm pretty sure I will stick with it. It feels like the right thing. The weirdest part of it is mentally not having a centre to eat around if you know what I mean. It’s usually meat and then veggies. So I'm trying different things and ways to eat them. Tonight I had a pizza type topped thing with bb-q sauce red peppers onions corn a few potatoes a boiled egg and cheese! It was sooooooooooo yummy! I don’t actually miss meat. Well not yet anyway. I'm not sure if I will give up fish yet I'm still contemplating that one!
Anyway wish me luck with the veggies! And hey if you want to know who I am… I’ll give you my card! :~P
Ships that pass…
As usual I didn’t have a photo for the day. So tonight hubby and I went on a mission to find a shot. The first idea was my therapist office as I did go to therapy today and I have to say this therapist is sooooooo much better than the other one! The more I go there the more I think I need therapy!
Anyway on our way home I thought we might go down to the quay. I have been wanting to try some night shots. Long exposure and thought it would be dark enough there to give it a go… to my delight I was wrong and instead we found this massive ship about to leave the port!
Wow! And even bigger WOW!!!! This was such a cool ship and so big! Thankfully it was even a nice night, not to cold or anything! And a good thing too as I was in my polka dot slippers! :~)
I took tones of pics and we sat and watched it leave… wondering where its heading and what kind of life it would be to live as a sea person… funny how we each really do live in our own world! Mine is nothing like the people on that ship and theirs is nothing like mine!
Anyway it’s funny how you can find something you’re not looking for when you go out and look for it!
If you want to know more about this ship and where it is check this out!
If you click on latitude/longitude where it gives the position and (map) you can see where it is right now!!!!! A map and all! That is just too too cool!
All fingers and thumbs
Ok nothing to do with the day I have had! This is “I need to take a photo because we fell asleep on the sofa for about 2 hours or so and I'm lazy and can’t think of anything else!”
Does that about sum it up?
On a better note I have got the big ok to display one of my photos in the tourist office! Woo hoo! It’s only till late October because it’s late in the tourist season but still one of my photos will be on display for the world to see! Wow! I'm delighted and excited! And just beside myself! I'm going to have a few business cards made up to go with it and have the print on order from my printer and it should be here tomorrow or the next day and by Thursday I should have all up and running!
And maybe if all goes well then next season I will be able to display a few more!
Anyway it’s very exciting and makes me feel great! Who knows I might actually get a sale on Etsy! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
And if you haven’t been there yet then…. Go forth to Etsy!
As you wish…
So we didn’t really do much today. We had a really great nap and well that’s about it! This is one of my favourite movies! And you guessed it we watched it tonight!
The meds are calming down a bit so I'm not really high anymore… :~( oh well I knew it was only temporary as long as they do they job and work as they should I can live without the high everyday but have to say it wasn’t bad while it lasted! ;~)
I know my shots are a bit lame at the moment but I will pick back up soon and start taking pics of more interesting things!
Anyway that’s it!
Yes this is rice... woo hoo!
I eat a lot of rice I love it. And also I'm still getting high from my meds so this is about as good as it's going to get today. I'm sad to say I think the highness is wearing off and most likely in the next day or two they wont be effecting me the same way... so I'm going to enjoy it while I can! :~) some side effects can be good! I think I can feel my brain moving! and I'm really thirsty! Worst cotton mouth EVER!!!!!
The doctor visit went ok today. I have new meds now and took them for the first time earlier… now I feel like the pics I took earlier on my phone with my jelly lenses! But I am without the lens!
Just hope they work! I don’t mind being dizzy for a few days!
I know its short and sweet today but I might fall off of the computer!
Well Well Well…
I can’t believe it’s day 265 and I have 100 days left! Woo hoo! I never really knew if I would make it this far and there have been a few times I wanted to give up but I'm so glad I didn’t!
Today we went here… Faughart hill. It’s a place we tried to find but couldn’t till now… it wasn’t well sign posted! But I have to say it was worth waiting to find! The view from this place is just amazing! You can see the whole towns and the bay and so very much! Also the history here just blows my mind! I don’t have a link for you but read below…
The whole top of this hill was a hill fort in Iron Age times. Later, Faughart is believed to have been the birthplace of St. Brighid (453 ad) - the patron saint of Ireland's blacksmiths, cattle and dairy workers. The site comprises a small mediaeval church in ruins, St. Brigid's bed, St. Brigid's Pillar (possibly the foundations of a round tower) and St. Brigid's Well (a place of pilgrimage for locals).
Because of its strategic position, Faughart has been the site of many important battles in Irish history. In 732, the King of Ulaidh, Aedh Roin, was defeated by the Northern Uí Néill and his head was cut off on the 'Stone of Decapitation' (Cloch an Commaigh) which is located near the door of the old church.
In 1318, Edward Bruce (brother of Robert, King of Scotland) made a bid for the kingship of Ireland and suffered a major defeat at Faughart. He was also decapitated and his headless body, it is said, is buried in the graveyard. His head was sent to the English King Edward II in London. Wonderful views to the Gap of the North (County Armagh), over Dundalk and its bay, the Cooley mountains and Slieve Gullion and the whole north-eastern quarter of the Republic.
I will no doubt be posting more pics of this place but I want to catch up a bit first. I'm so behind… I'm feeling better and have to see the doctor tomorrow so I hope that will improve my state of mind even more! :~)
Today is my fav sis-in-laws birthday too! It’s funny how you meet some people and feel a connection with them right away and she is one of those people for me! She is so dear to me and I love her very much! So Happy Birthday Tilly!
Anyway… I had a great day today with excellent company! I love to go and see and experience everything with Michael! I'm so lucky he's willing and feels the same way about me! We have great times together no matter where we go or what we do! I don’t know how he puts up with me taking him here and there for photos of who knows what! But we have fun anyway!
This is my roll ring. Or should I say was my roll ring…
When I was about 18 or so my grandma bought me one of these! I loved it and wore it all the time. But at some point I was separated from it.
So one day when Michael and I were out and I saw one he bought it for me! And the real thing too not like the silver one Gran had bought for me. This one is three different colours of gold even though you can’t really tell in the pic. That was about 6 years ago I guess. It always makes me think of Gran and its one of my fav rings.
Today… it broke. Not just one band but two… I have no idea why. I was sitting on the sofa and noticed it broke then a few minutes later I noticed the second part broke too. I didn’t do anything that should have broken it and I don’t know why it decided today to break…
It’s funny too because today my grandma would have been 91 if she were still alive.
We lay in bad last night talking about her and I have been thinking of her all day.
The one part that didn’t break is the rose gold and I have it on a different finger now.
Maybe she is just saying hello or maybe she is saying something else… I don’t know.
I know it’s been near 12 years ago that she died and I still go to pick up the phone to call her and it totally shocks me she has been gone that long.
And of course I miss her so very very much!
Happy Birthday Gran!
I have decided to do a Project 365! Here is just a bit of info behind every pic.
I have an Etsy shop now! Check it out here!!!!
