Sand Sun and Memories...
My dad was a truck driver. So in the summer when I wasn’t in school sometimes I would get to go with him. He traveled all over 48 states so it might be anywhere. I can remember going with him to South Carolina. We went to Boone Hall…
It was really weird because we were in a big truck! We couldn’t drive in even though my dad tried too! we had to park and then walk from some distance but someone that was going there too, kindly gave us a lift … we held traffic up for quite awhile when we couldn't get in the place and had to turn around...so were kind of celebrities... of sorts! Not all of our fans were so polite! I don’t blame them we must have held up traffic for miles!
Anyway I remember the long tree lined drive to the house! Just lovely! I also remember the slave houses and how I was so affected by how they looked… I just didn’t understand how it could be true… I still don’t to be honest.
Also we went to a restaurant I can just see the name of if but can’t manage to get it to my fingers! Fresh seafood! Wow! My dad must have ordered everything! It was like a feast! I will never forget the poor waitress was in such a rush she slipped backwards and fell while carrying loads of food…. Other than being a bit embarrassed she was ok! My dad and I saw the beach and picked up shells…
I never thought I would live so close to the ocean… it’s wonderful! I do have to admit I have a major fear phobia of Tsunamis though and not because of Japan (still so awful and sad and what’s going on with that nuclear reactor anyway?) I had it before that. But I still love to live by the ocean! The tides are weird and wonderful it’s so bizarre to think the moon is doing that! And the beach is great!
It was a bit windy today but nice to get some fresh sea air!
I have decided to do a Project 365! Here is just a bit of info behind every pic.
I have an Etsy shop now! Check it out here!!!!
