I like to drive, good thing! I never had a very good car and defiantly never had a car to tell me what to do! “Press Break + Start” oh I know probably most cars do things like this now... our car doesn’t even have a key! It’s a card like a credit card but thicker!
I learned to drive an automatic when I was 15 but didn’t learn to drive a standard till I was about 21 or so. My dad gave me my first lesson in a standard... and last! We killed each other! Then he gave me a second lesson later that didn’t go as bad but still no dice! I just didn’t get it. Now keep in mind I wasn’t learning on a new car like now days. I was learning in an old 71 Chevy truck! I don’t like to be beat by something and shifting a car was not going to get the better of me! So..... One day my dad and I were at my grandparent’s house and my grandma wanted me to drive her to the grocery store. I said to her let’s take the truck! She was game so off we went! Now remember I had only 2 lessons and didn’t really understand what the hell I was doing! Things went ok on the way there only slight whiplash! (Not to bad) then away back home! Well... on the way back home there is a hill. Not only a hill but a hill with a stop sign at the bottom. Also at the bottom of said hill was a T junction with a pond at the top of the T where people always over judge it and crash into the water and we (I) had to turn left! I didn’t know what to do? Shift? Break? Clutch? HELP!!!!! But asking Gran was not the thing to do! I must have looked really funny and panicked because she started to laugh at me! I asked her again (closer to the dreaded turn and no doubt death or at least a near drowning) “Help! What do I do?” she laughed more! I was horrified and we were both about to have a good soaking! She, still laughing and now holding herself not to pee her pants! Said nothing! Yes NOTHING!!!! Or if she did I couldn’t hear her through the laughter! I swear it felt like we took that corner on two wheels! But we made it! And I never had any more problems driving a standard!
One more thing... the two stuffed animals on the dash are special. The one on the left is Sam he goes where we go. He is very well travelled from California to Italy! The one on the right is our guard! Michael’s mother gave him to us and he’s our protector!
I have decided to do a Project 365! Here is just a bit of info behind every pic.
I have an Etsy shop now! Check it out here!!!!
